With nearly 20 years of experience in editorial roles, Joy is a senior member of the Edelman Financial Engines brand writing team.

Joy joined Edelman Financial Engines in 2023 and has expertise in content creation and education. Prior to joining EFE, she held editorial roles at a large financial firm, creating educational content and marketing communications for direct investors.

Joy’s passion for financial education is inspired and driven by her personal experiences. Her father was an immigrant and although he was well-educated, his first job in the U.S. was at a fast-food chain. Witnessing his journey as she grew up, Joy understands how hard EFE clients have worked to be successful, what they’ve sacrificed and how each dollar is an emblem of their freedom and independence. As a single mom, she has also experienced how smart, strategic decisions can be life-changing, and she’s proud to be a part of a team focused on giving people the knowledge and guidance to make those informed choices.

Joy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in the Philadelphia area with her partner, the youngest of two daughters, and four rescue pets. Joy enjoys DIY home improvement; outdoor activities like hiking, camping and swimming; traveling adventures and overthinking just about everything.
