Erin Gilmore Smith

With nearly 20 years of experience working with high-net worth clients and their families, Erin co-leads the Advanced Planning Strategies Estate Planning Team.

Erin joined Edelman Financial Engines in 2022 and has expertise in estate and wealth transfer planning. Prior to joining EFE, she held senior roles at two large wealth management firms.

Erin guides clients and their financial advisors in all aspects of estate planning. She has deep experience in developing comprehensive and tailored investment, wealth transfer, transfer tax, income tax, retirement, executive compensation, credit, life insurance and philanthropic planning strategies and solutions. She believes firmly in EFE’s mission to help its clients move their financial lives forward and is grateful to be a part of their journeys.

Erin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. She is admitted to the bars of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. A proud native Texan, Erin now lives in Connecticut with her husband. She volunteers her time with Cake4Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides birthday cakes to underserved children and young adults.
