Larry Raffone

President and Chief Executive Officer
Member, Board of Directors

With over 30 years of experience in the financial services/technology industry, including 21 years at Edelman Financial Engines, Larry propelled the legacy Financial Engines business from a small venture-backed Silicon Valley start-up to the largest independent registered investment advisor in America with nearly $241 billion in assets under management today and over 1.3 million clients. Early in Larry’s tenure at legacy Financial Engines, he was responsible for building our key relationships with the largest employers and recordkeepers in America that ultimately fueled the company’s rapid growth. Larry led legacy Financial Engines through some of the most transformational moments in the company’s history, including the acquisition of The Mutual Fund Store (2016) and the merger with Edelman Financial Services (2018), resulting in the combined businesses known today as Edelman Financial Engines.

Decades ago, Larry recognized that the financial services industry was underserving the typical American family and joined legacy Financial Engines in 2001 to build a new breed of investment advisor that provides high-quality financial planning and investment advice, free from product conflict, and delivered by the best planners in the country. Larry is proud to lead a mission-driven company that puts the client’s best interest first and continues to raise the bar as Edelman Financial Engines today strives to bring much needed financial help to more people.

Prior to joining the company, Larry was Executive Vice President of Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group (IBG), a division of Fidelity Investments where he managed the correspondent services business and the RIA channel.

Larry earned a B.A. in Marketing from Bryant University and an M.B.A from Babson College.
